CTR are delighted to re-issue the debut (& only) album by Sheffield based post-punk band I’m So Hollow. Originally released in 1981, ISH were active from 1978 leaving a sparse body of work. However, very excitingly, an exclusive Chris Watson (Cabaret Voltaire) recorded & very recently rediscovered & re-mastered session from 1979 complements the vinyl edition of this release. This is enclosed upon a Bandcamp download card within the album packaging.
Also included in this bundle is the CD edition with 8 page booklet in a plastic-free digipack.
ISH created a singular sound, a unique hybrid sci-fi post-punk melange. They were contemporaries of Clock DVA, The Human League & Artery amongst others.
This release features updated artwork by Yosef Sawicki of the band & liner notes by Roger Quail (Clock DVA) contemporaries of ISH.
“The environmental influences were very strong, Industrial and austere – steeped in working-class history. Imagination and vision were left to run wild in this bleak landscape.”. (Jane Antcliff – Wilson ISH vocalist/Keyboardist-The Guardian 2019)
‘Sheffield had a feeling of being the city of the future” (Jarvis Cocker-The Guardian December 2019)
“A twisted Lee & Nancy union in a post-punk setting.” (Clock DVA member & ISH contemporary Roger Quail)
