Caroline True Records (CTR) present the first evening of a monthly Friday night residency at the Cord Bar Manchester, a return to our spiritual home.
This is a launch night for the latest release on CTR. "Fame" - Jon Savage's Secret History Of Post Punk 1978 - 81. A very limited edition (500) double grey vinyl gatefold sleeve deluxe package with cover / liner-notes by Jon Savage. Jon curated the tracks on the album alongside CTR. The album will be on sale at the event along with other releases on the label. It's not going through a distributor-so this is the only chance you'll have a get a copy.
For those of you who may not know him, Jon can best be described as a cultural commentator, writer and long-time music journalist. (The Guardian, NME, The Face, Melody Maker). he is also the Sex Pistols and Joy Division biographer and writer of the acclaimed 'Teenage' and soon-come documentary on the book. actually, he's really a secret national treasure.
CTR's musical mix has won followers all over. From classic Disco and House tracks-through to Soul, Funk and Reggae with Post-Punk undertones and global grooves , it's catching the Zeitgeist..
